Welcome to the 2007-08 school year! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and highlight events of the upcoming year. With your support and involvement at home, I am confident that your student will have a very successful year.
All of my students will have the opportunity to learn skills, tools, and facts they need to be successful here in Geneva, in middle school, and in life. Our classroom work is based on a safe and caring learning environment where students and teachers respect themselves and each other. I have high expectations for all my students. They are expected to learn to the best of their ability and to work in a quality manner. I also expect each student to be accountable for their actions and to practice a level of social skills and decision making skills that sets the standard for the rest of the school. This results not only in a community of learners, but in a community of learners with high self-esteem.
I look forward to working as a team with you and your student to help them be successful with this learning opportunity. I also look forward to meeting with you at our upcoming Curriculum Night on September 20th. That evening, we will go over the plans and procedures for your student’s year. The PTA’s Back-to-School Barbecue will also be coming up on the 14th...yum!
